It may be a stretch to assume that Obi-Wan himself will be a playable character in Jedi: Survivor, but it's not unlikely for him to appear or at least be mentioned in the game. This places the upcoming game 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, which is the exact same amount of time that has elapsed between the film and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The original Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order takes place five years after Revenge of the Sith in 14 BBY, and EA has confirmed that Jedi: Survivor takes place an additional five years after Jedi: Fallen Order. Those speculating as to which new characters could be playable in Jedi: Survivor may be excited to learn that the game takes place during the same year as Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi show, in 9 BBY - just under a decade before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. It may not be completely clear when the next game is meant to take place based on the teaser trailer alone, but a press release from EA shared on Business Wire gives some additional insight as to how Jedi Survivor slots into the Star Wars timeline. It's clear that Jedi: Fallen Order takes place at some point between the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy of films, as its plot deals with many of the issues of this time (Order 66, Jedi on the run, etc.). Jedi: Fallen Order's story incorporates Night Sister magic and other elements of deep Star Wars lore, introducing new concepts and locations like the Fortress Inquisitorius, which serves as the setting for the climactic mission and encounter with Darth Vader. Protagonist Cal Kestis teams up with ex-Jedi Cere Junda early on in the game, and they embark on a journey to oppose the ongoing Order 66 by keeping a list of force-sensitive children out of Sith hands. Jedi: Fallen Order has been confirmed to be part of the broader Star Wars canon, taking place shortly after the events of Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.
